David has over 25 years’ experience in town planning working with a diverse group of clients including developers, architects and designers, local government and corporate groups. He specialises in statutory planning and providing expert evidence before the VCAT and Planning Panels forums.
What David enjoys most about working at ratio: is taking on new challenges and devising the most appropriate strategies for achieving successful outcomes.
Robbie joined the team at ratio: in 2007 having previously worked in local government in Melbourne’s east.
Robbie is a highly capable planner with a sound understanding of the Victorian Planning Provisions, and he also offers skills in project co-ordination, strategy and negotiation. His strong technical knowledge enables him to provide clients with well-considered advice on a variety of project types, both big and small, to facilitate outcomes on residential, commercial, rural and industrial projects.
Robbie regularly appears as an advocate on behalf of clients at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

John Patrick Landscape Architects
John Patrick is a Landscape Architect who has been involved in garden writing for over 20 years. Originally trained in Britain he migrated to Australia in 1980 with his wife.
Through the 1980s John was Senior Lecturer at Burnley College. During this time we wrote a number of books including The Australian Garden. He also organised and wrote the guidebook to Victoria's Open Gardens for the State's sesquicentenary and this grew to become first Victoria's Open Garden Scheme and then Australia's Open Garden Scheme. He wrote the first two Open Garden Scheme Guidebooks.
He was Series Editor for the very popular Lothian Australian Garden Series for which he wrote Trees for Town and City Gardens, Great Garden, No Sweat and Beautiful Gardens with Less Water.
John's garden was open as part of Australia's Open Garden Scheme. He lectures widely and travels extensively in pursuit of gardens. His Landscape Architectural practice has undertaken work from Cairns to Hobart, Perth to Sydney and specialises in the management of historic landscapes and work involving street trees.
